NoR Gdynia Match Cup - Open Polish Nationals

Dear all,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the VOLVO Gdynia Sailing Days (VGSD) 2013 I would like to invite your teams for the following events which are part of the VGSD:

1. EUROSAF Match Racing Women’s European Championships (G2) – 17th – 21st July 2013 – Gdynia
2. Gdynia Match Cup – Open Polish Nationals (G2) – 25th – 28th July 2013 – Gdynia

I attach Notice of Race for both championships.

Entries were open for a long time but we still have some free slots especially for the lady’s event.

I would like to ask you to motivate your teams :) The deadline for the entry and entry fee payment for Europeans was 15th of June but we already move it. However we need to close the starting list until the end of June.

Regarding the Gdynia Match Cup we have 3 more places.

Gdynia – Poland's Sailing Capital

Gdynia can rightfully be referred to as the sailing capital of Poland. Every year a number of events of national, European, World or Olympic scale are held here. This is due to the excellent conditions in terms of both, the wind and the infrastructure. Local residents and tourists can watch the races while walking along the beach or the promenade (Bulwar Nadmorski) – nearly two kilometres long. They can take part in the numerous accompanying events, like concerts or meetings. The base for all sailing events is the marina in Gdynia. One of its strengths is the location in the city centre. It is one of the beauty spots of Gdynia, busy with sailors from early spring to late autumn.

Venue

Marina of Gdynia is the yacht harbour being the part of the Premiere Waterfront District i.e. area located along the Bay of Gdansk and the forested cliffy coast 10 minutes walking distance from the centre of Gdynia. Marina of Gdynia due to its unique location deserves special attention. The most popular cultural, recreational and sport events as sailing regattas and other spectacular performances used to be organised in this area. The restaurants cafes and camping site as well as boat building services sail sawing and repairing sale of yachting accessories and catering are located in that area.

Travel

Gdynia can be easily reached by air, sea and land. Gdansk Airport with regular national and international flights is located within 20 minutes drive. Gdynia has a regular ferry connection with Karlskrona in Sweden. You can also reach Gdynia by train connections and international roads.

We can arrange transportation to and from the airport.
